Why a Krishna Theme for Twins?
Few themes feel as warm and meaningful for an Indian family’s first birthday as Bal Krishna. It is playful for children, full of colour, and carries blessings that grandparents love. For twins, it fit beautifully: two little Krishnas, one grand celebration. Our job was to turn that idea into a full banquet experience for 300 guests, from the entrance to the last song on the dance floor.
Krishna Theme Birthday Decoration
Guests were welcomed by a colourful balloon arch in pink, green and yellow, flanked by baby Krishna cutouts, with an LED screen displaying the first birthday welcome and a personalised welcome board with the twins’ photos.
Inside, the stage backdrop brought the theme to life: Radha-Krishna and Yashoda-Krishna artwork, pastel balloon work, a large peacock feather prop and the twins’ names in light-up letters, the spot where every family photo of the night was taken.
Catering for 300 Guests: The Dishes Everyone Talked About
Feeding 300 guests at a birthday is as much about planning as it is about cooking. Our buffet counters were set up and ready before the first guest walked in, laid out so that families with small children could move easily between the food, the stage and their tables without long queues. Our uniformed service team kept the counters stocked, clean and moving through the evening.
The dishes that earned us the most compliments, to name a few:
- Chaat counter: Golgappe and Tikki Chaat
- Starters: Paneer Tikka and Malai Chaap
- Main course: Kadhai Paneer
- Desserts: Jalebi Rabri and Kulfi
At a big family birthday, the chaat counter is always where the crowd gathers first, and the golgappe and tikki chaat kept a queue going all evening. And as at so many of our events, hot jalebi with rabri and kulfi were the perfect sweet ending to the night.
The Cake Cutting
The first birthday cake, with a floral Krishna theme and a “One” topper, was also arranged by us, so its colours matched the décor perfectly. The whole family gathered on stage with the twins for the cake cutting, easily the most photographed moment of the night.
DJ and Dance Floor
Once the cake was cut, our DJ took over. The LED-lit dance floor filled up with aunts, cousins and friends, and the energy stayed high late into the night. It was, in every sense, an amazing night.
