A griha pravesh is not a catering booking with a puja attached to it. It is a ceremony first, and everything else has to arrange itself around the muhurat.

On 24 April 2026, we handled the complete griha pravesh for Nipun and Shweta Gupta at Golden Palm society, Noida Sector 168 — from booking the pandit ji through to the last laddu box handed to a departing guest. Three hundred guests attended.

Everything for the Puja, Not Just the Food

Most families planning a griha pravesh end up managing four or five separate vendors while also trying to move into a new home. The Guptas asked us to take the whole thing, and we did.

What we arranged:

• Pandit ji booked for the ceremony
• Hawan samagri in full
• Fresh flowers for the puja and for decorating the house
• Fruit for the prasad
• A fresh flower welcome gate at the entrance
• Catering, seating and service for 300 guests

The house itself was decorated with fresh flowers rather than artificial arrangements. For a griha pravesh that matters — the house is being welcomed into, and it should smell like it.

A Satvik Menu: No Onion, No Garlic

The entire menu was satvik — prepared without onion or garlic, as is traditional for a puja. This is where a lot of catering falls down. Remove onion and garlic from a standard menu and you are left with something flat, so the flavour has to be rebuilt from other directions: ginger, hing, whole spices, tomatoes, curd and proper technique.

We also ran a live tikki chaat counter. A live counter inside a residential society is a different exercise from one on a farmhouse lawn, but it is worth the effort: guests arriving across a long window get something hot and fresh rather than food that has been sitting out waiting for them.

Serving 300 Guests in a Residential Society

Three hundred guests in a society is a logistics problem before it is a food problem. Access, lift timings, where the kitchen sets up, how service staff move without walking through the ceremony — all of it gets planned before a single tray is loaded.

Guests at a griha pravesh also arrive in waves rather than all at once, since many come straight after the ceremony and others through the afternoon. Service has to hold quality across that whole window.

150 Laddu Boxes, Made in Pure Ghee

Guests left with a return gift: 150 boxes of laddus, prepared by our kitchen in pure ghee. Not bought in and boxed, but made for this event.

This is the part of a griha pravesh families often leave until the last week, and it is the part guests physically carry home. It is worth doing properly.
